The SS16 men’s presentations have come to an end: From London to Paris via Milan, countless fashion brands showcased next year’s trends. On Sunday last week it all came to a sartorial climax in Paris, arguably the world’s fashion capital. In sweltering heat the collections were paraded down runways and admired up close at intimate presentations.
Thirteen years in 2016, Y-3 is still a strong partnership between
Japanese design icon Yohji Yamamoto and adidas. The brand initially set out to
merge sportswear with fashion, and that goal remains as Yamamoto continues to
mix his expert cuts and luxury fabrics with a desire to effortlessly move the
human body. For SS16, agility and speed was as important as the focused colour
palette and characteristic graphics. The collection was shown alongside an
avant-garde performance by the TAO Dance Theatre.
Throughout the fashion extravaganza, adidas maintained its constant
presence - either through its own events or as a creative collaborator - and
all in all totalled seven outings during the five days of Men’s Paris Fashion
Week.
